About Us

There is a massive, popular culture which is growing among the Philippines and its youth--the culture of comics. In Grafiction SHS, we are all about one thing: making comics. We believe that comics is an artform with great expressive potential and an artform that has made great achievements. 

Grafiction provides a home for comic writers, artists, and enthusiasts. Through the thinking hub that is the org, we can unlock their potential and open up a new facet of the ASHS. 

We accept everyone who’s willing to make comics with us, whether you’re an already fairly experienced artist, or still a beginning comic writer. No matter what artstyle, topics, or stories you want to express through your comics, we’re willing to accept you.

As an organization, it is our goal to strengthen the notion of comics being an art form. We can also show the importance and eloquence of comics, which has been mostly overshadowed by flashier art forms like video games and film in both mainstream and academic circles. We, too, can show the public the skill and hard work it takes to create comics. This can help the many, many local artists, freelancers and comic creators in our society get the exposure and proper recognition they deserve.

Through the ideas we share in our stories, we aim to establish comics as an artform worth looking at and to make a difference in our society through our stories.
